Description
Black Butte served as a lookout site as early as 1912 with communication by heliograph.
Winchester Riffe served as lookout from at least 1914 to 1928.
The structure is a unique design with a very narrow window set. The original structure may have been replaced in 1936.
Removal date is unknown.
