A lookout structure was first constructed on Camp Six Mountain in 1923. Sometime later, it was replaced by a California Region 5 Plan BC-301 cabin on a 20 foot, open timber tower.
The cabin was removed and reassembled on Bear Basin Butte and added to the Recreational Rental Program in 1997. Only the tower piers remain.
