Gazelle Mountain was built in 1933 for the Shasta National Forest. A USFS Plan R1 cabin atop a 20 foot enclosed timber tower.
The administration of this Lookout was taken over by the Klamath National Forest from the Shasta National Forest in 1951.
The lookout structure was removed sometime before 1986. Only the foundation remains.
