The tower on Tulelake National Wildlife Refuge was constructed circa 1937, an Aermotor 80 foot open steel tower with a 7x7 observation cabin. The tower was used for wildlife observation and perhaps, fire detection.
The tower may have been named 'Peninsula' as it was located on a peninsula on the southern border of the refuge.
Removal date is unknown. A concrete pad is all that remains at the site.
