Description
Windy Cut was constructed in 1936. The building is a very unusual design and noted as a 'C4' on the 1986 Thornton survey. No further detail is provided.
The structure was located right next to Highway 32 and may have served additional purposes though no reference can be found. A helispot is noted on the location in Forest maps today.
Windy Cut is located just over 3 miles WNW from Colby Mountain Lookout and 2300 feet lower. It may have been used to view the Deer Creek drainage located just west.
