Description

The original 70' iron tower was built with a $1,250 contribution from the towns of Avon, Stoughton, Weymouth, Randolph, Abington, and Holbrook and was first operated in 1926. In 1945, two-way radios were installed. In 1948, a new tower cab was built. At the end of the 1994 fire season, the tower use was discontinued. The tower was removed and scrapped in the fall of 2006.
