This wooden lookout was one of several erected by the Ringwood Company to protect their woodland holdings from wildfire. Probably no more than 40' tall, it was operated by local resident Ralph Colfax. It was destroyed in 1954 by a fire according to Section 2 Chief Fire Warden Frank Scardo. There was no known road access to the site, but a trail led from Camp Yawpo to the lookout.
