An enclosed wooden tower was built on this site in 1911. It was replaced in 1916 by a steel 40-foot Aermotor LS25 tower. Access to the tower was by an exterior ladder initially, with wooden steps added to the interior in 1918.

The tower ceased operation in 1970 and was subsequently removed from the summit by private individuals sometime after that. Eventually, all the pieces of the tower were purchased by Excelsior Towers and it was re-erected in the Village of Speculator in 2022.
