The tower on Cahas Mountain was one of many towers protecting this section of southern Virginia. All of the Franklin County towers have been removed.
This tower suffered many bouts of vandalism before the forestry office in Franklin County made the decision to remove it. The site is now owned by The Nature Conservancy.
