Description
The first tower at Deschutes was built by the U.S. Army in 1930s and was a 100' wooden tower with an 8'x8' cab. In 1942 it was replaced with a 50' wooden tower with a 9'x9' AWS cab. In 1968 it was replaced with a 112' steel tower with a cab likely similar to Rainier. It was removed by 1994. The tower in the photo above is the wooden tower built in 1942. We are seeking a photo of the steel tower built in 1968.
