Constructed in 1934, this structure is a 100' Model MC-39 Aermotor steel tower with 7'x7' cab and an inside stairway. The land on which the tower stands was purchased in 1932 for back taxes by Edmund and Matilda Drager. In 1934, scouts were roaming the courntryside to find suitable sites for the construction of lookout towers, preferably on state-owned land. The scouts happened on the site, a small, but high, wooded knob and construction began shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, as construction got underway, Mr. Drager searched for the noise and commotion of construction. Mr. Drager, himself conservation-oriented, found the activity to be on his land. He happily granted an easement to the government to build the tower.
This tower was removed by August 2023.
