Located at over 12,000 feet in elevation, Medicine Bow Peak provides 360-degree views of the surrounding terrain. A small wooden ground cabin was built on the site about 1909. It was later replaced by a larger structure that featured a cupola. A house for watchmen was located down the mountain on the shore of Lake Marie.
