Three Peaks Lookout was constructed in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps for the US Forest Service. The structure was a California Region 5 Plan BC-301 cabin on a 10 foot enclosed timber tower.
Three Peaks overlooked the Fort Hunter-Liggett practice range and many artillery related fires were reported.
Three Peaks was not staffed after 1958, the land was traded to the US Army, who eventually removed the structure some time later.
