Description
Built in 1936 by the CCC, this 100’ Aermotor steel tower with LS-40 7’x7’ cab was operated by the CCC until 1942 when U.S. Forest Service personnel took over. In 1983 the tower was put under a Special Use Permit by the Louisiana State Forestry Department, and was operated as a Coop tower with the US Forest Service. In 1988, the tower was purchased by a Mr. Thorne, father of Kevin Thorne who had re-erected the Mosley Hill Lookout for the U.S. Forest Service.
